Household Repair Ledger

A place for every repair

Help & support.

Email xuxiayu2010@gmail.com. Include the app version, device model, iOS version, what you tried and any error message. Avoid sending private receipts or serial numbers unless necessary.

Create an asset

In Assets, tap +. Give the appliance a name and room, then optionally record its model, serial number, purchase date, warranty end and notes. Save, then add label photos, purchase receipts or PDFs from the asset detail screen.

Log a repair and find it later

Open an asset and tap Log repair. Enter its date, title, optional cost and currency, and notes. Each repair can have its own attachments. Search from Assets by name, room, model, serial or repair text. Costs are never converted between currencies; unknown costs are excluded from totals.

Prepare a service packet

Open the asset → Prepare service packet. Choose whether to include notes and document copies, add an optional service note, and create a preview. Review every page before sharing, saving or printing through iOS. Originals are unchanged. A PDF packet is a report; use a full backup to restore editable records.

Back up and restore

Settings → Export full backup saves a .repairledger document package containing your records and original files. Keep the complete package together, outside the app. To restore, choose Import a backup in Settings. Review counts and choose Skip existing, Replace matching, or Import as copies. Replace overwrites the matching asset’s entire history with the backup version; copies creates new IDs. Invalid backups are rejected before ledger records change.

Correct, remove or recover data

Use the asset or repair menu to edit or delete it. Deleting an asset also deletes its repairs, reminders and attachment references. A short Undo is offered for ordinary deletions. Remove sample household in Settings removes all sample assets, including edits you made to them. Delete all local data is permanent and also clears the recovery snapshot; make a backup first. If a save is damaged, the app offers recovery from the previous intact save rather than silently starting over.

Photos, storage and errors

JPEG, PNG, HEIC and unlocked PDF files are supported. Originals stay unchanged, while image previews are downsampled. The limit is 25 MB per file and 200 MB of attachments per ledger. If storage is full, free device space and retry; the previous saved ledger remains available. Keep source files and regular backups.

Reminders and offline use

Add a reminder from any asset. All dates stay visible, including overdue reminders and completed history. Enable optional notifications in Reminders; iOS schedules up to 60 upcoming reminders at 9 AM local time. Reopen the app periodically and after changing timezones. Delivery depends on permission, Focus and system settings. Core record keeping and PDF creation work offline; App Store downloads, email and website links need a connection.

Purchases and reinstalling

All features are included with the one-time app purchase. There is no Pro unlock or subscription to restore inside the app. Redownload through App Store purchase history with the same Apple Account. Apple handles payment issues and refund requests. Reinstalling the app does not itself restore your local ledger; import a backup.

Warranty records

Dates are entered by you. The app does not interpret coverage or legal rights. Check the actual warranty document and ask the manufacturer or service provider when needed.
